Gran Turismo 7 has been pushed back to 2022. The PlayStation 5 exclusive was announced last year with a release planned for 2021. The detail was shared in a GQ interview with Jim Ryan, where Ryan shared details about the next upcoming PlayStation VR headset, the restart of their Play at Home initiative, a slate of PC releases (including Days Gone), and more.
“GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months." Once again, our common enemy COVID-19 seems to have played a big part in the delay of the newest instalment in the Gran Turismo franchise.
Not much is currently known about Gran Turismo 7, as all we have got so far is the above announcement trailer. Fingers crossed that more details will come our way later this year. Sony will "share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available".
