EA pleased the masses when it announced Skate 4 at EA Play 2020 in the summer of last year. Now, the company has finally revealed their chosen studio to develop the much-awaited sequel. Skate EA announced the new studio’s formation on Twitter yesterday, which got many fans excited.

Creative leads say Skate 4 has come Full Circle

EA’s new Vancouver-based studio, Full Circle, will be working on Skate 4. The studio - headed by the former head of Xbox Live, Daniel McCulloch - is "coming together to create rad experiences and redefine the way gamers create content that can be shared with the skate community."

McCulloch expressed that "the fans wished Skate back into existence and we want them involved in the process from development to game launch and beyond. We want them to feel like they are a part of Full Circle.” He further explained that they’re“all about having fun and making great games that people want to play with their friends. And, we’re looking for more developers to help us build compelling worlds for players to explore.

Skate series veterans Deran Chung and Cuz Parry will be taking the creative helm for Skate 4, as they had been on the original creative crew for the previous three - which is great news for fans who crave creative continuity and authenticity. The first three games of the series were developed by EA Blackbox, with the third instalment released a good 11 years ago! As a result, fans had taken to social media and IRL campaigns to push EA back into the skating realm. In .2016, skaters launched a campaign at the skateboard park, The Berrics, named “Make EA Skate again”.

When EA officially announced the Skate 4 title, Parry told fans in the announcement video that they had literally “commented this into existence”. With a great creative cast, led by the original team, it seems the wait has made it worth all the while.
