Valve has updated its Steam storefront as it once again kicked off the Steam Autumn Sale and Steam Awards. The yearly held sale covers both Black Friday and Cyber Monday and will end on 1 December at 10am PT/ 6pm GMT.

Steam Awards nominations
This year is the fifth year that Steam is holding the annual Steam Awards where you can nominate your favourite games from this year across the following 10 categories:
- Game of the year
- VR game of the year
- Labor of love
- Better with friends
- Outstanding visual style
- Most innovative gameplay
- Best game you suck at
- Best soundtrack
- Oustanding story-rich game
- Sit back and relax
The most nominated games will become the finalists for the next voting, which will occur during the Steam Winter Sale. To make things harder for you to choose, you can not select a game more than once, so be wise with your pickings.
In return for taking part in the Steam Awards by nominating games, players can earn profile XP and badges. Additionally, Valve has added new items to the point shop, including a full Autumn profile, avatar frames and a background for your profile.
For those who are looking to upgrade their Debut Badge that you can level up through the point store, be quick: Valve is removing the Debut Badge on 9 December at 10am PT/ 6pm GMT. From that point on, the badge can no longer be earned or levelled up.
