Nintendo has announced more information about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which are scheduled to be released in November 2021.
In Wednesday’s Pokémon Presents livestream, Nintendo revealed more information about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - the upcoming remakes of the 2006 Pokémon classics Diamond and Pearl. This came alongside a trailer that gave us an initial look at the game's updated style and some additional elements, such as the ability to decorate pokéballs with stickers.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl transport us back to the Sinnoh region, which was introduced in the original Diamond and Pearl games. The new trailer highlights some of the stunning landscapes which will be explored, including snowy routes and mountains. The remakes will also have multiple customisation options that allow you to make the game your own, including the ability to decorate your pokéballs with stickers, build and decorate your own secret base and change your outfit in-game. It was also revealed that Pokémon super contests - an important element of the source games - would be returning in the new releases under the title Super Contest Shows. The shows are split into five categories: Coolness, Cuteness, Beauty, Toughness, and Cleverness. These shows will allow you to dress up in your favourite outfit and make your Pokémon dance.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are scheduled to release on the 19th of November 2021 and are currently available to pre-order in both digital and physical copies for $59.99 / £49.99 / €59,99. Players who purchase either game before the 21st of February 2022 will also receive a free Manaphy egg as an early purchase bonus. The egg will be retrievable via the mystery gift function and will require an internet connection though no Switch Online subscription is needed.
