The much-anticipated sequel has finally been announced.
After just over a decade, Alan Wake is finally back - this time, not in a remastered jacket, but in a fully-fledged new title. Remedy Entertainment has shared the exciting reveal last night at The Game Awards in the form of a short CGI trailer.
Having worked on many iterations of Alan Wake 2 in between projects, Sam Lake - Creative Director - is very excited that Alan Wake 2 is finally coming our way.
For over a decade, after Alan Wake, in between every project we have made, I have eagerly worked on Alan Wake 2 with a small core team, dreaming up different incarnations of the concept. But getting a large game project funded and greenlit is a complex effort that depends on many things, some of which are beyond our control. We never gave up hope. If anything, we grew more determined as years passed. Each version of the concept felt better than the previous one.
The new and upcoming Alan Wake will be Remedy's first survival horror game, trying to connect the gameplay and the story, where they aim for a deep, layered mystery. Remedy Entertainment is aiming to release Alan Wake 2 in 2023 for Xbox X/S, PlayStation 5, and Epic Games Store on PC.
Check out the reveal trailer below and let us know in the comments if you are as excited about finally having an announced sequel as we are.
