Telltale reveals The Expanse: A Telltale Series at The Game Awards

Welcome back, Telltale!

Telltale Games is back and announced that they are currently working on The Expanse: A Telltale Series. During The Game Awards, we got to see a trailer for their upcoming title. It will serve as a prequel to the sci-fi TV show and is being developed by Telltale and Deck Nine.

In a press release, the studios share that players will be taking on the role of Camina Drummer, who will be portrayed by Cara Gee, just like in the series. Camina Drummer is the leader of a ragtag scavenging crew that is hunting for treasure on the edges of The Belt. The game will put players through tough decisions that effectively will decide the fate of the Artemis crew.

One of our driving forces is to empower other creative voices to tell their stories in the manner of previous genre-defining Telltale games. - Jamie Ottilie, CEO of Telltale.

Currently, The Expanse: A Telltale Series is in the early stages of production. Any information regarding its release remains out for now, albeit the expectations are to release the game for PC and leading consoles. Many fans may be disappointed with the announcement, as they would much rather get an update in regards to The Wolf Among Us 2. However, Telltale Games shared the news that they will have something regarding the game very soon. Early next year, something will be shared in regards to the news for the fans to sink their teeth in. For now, fans can await Game Informer issue 342, as it will feature the studio opening up about rebuilding the studio, their games, and working in a new engine.
